Work Description:
|
The right side of this composition is filled with layers of impastoed black paint, interrupted only by a thin white vertical lifeline running parallel to the right edge from top to bottom edge. At left, the textural black field is slashed from the bottom left corner up to the top edge by a brown form with several accents of magenta running through its core. A violent, bright red vertical lifeline runs alongside the right side of this brown form, juxtaposing the quiet white lifeline at right. A thin, cobalt blue vertical line reaches downwards from the top edge of the canvas towards the red from. A small orange form emerges from the upper left edge, separated from the large black field by a perimeter of exposed canvas.
