Work Description:
|
The composition of this painting is dominated by three primary tones: the golden-tan hue of the background/negative space, a volcanic black used to create a single middle-ground form, and a chalky white pigment which makes up two scythe-shaped forms that float in the foreground. Still has composed the black form and the two white forms in a way that somewhat communicates a figural presence, and he includes two red stokes at the top of the black form to further emphasize the anthropomorphic quality of the shapes. In the bottom right corner, a tall yellow line rises into the scene like a wheat stalk and is topped by several orange paint-strokes.
