Work Description:
|
Still's work interconnects black, white, and blue with stunning fluidity in this composition. The canvas is predominantly shades of black, varying in the tonal darkness, as well as the overall smooth appearance of the color. White forms materialize, vertically reaching for the top of the canvas. A section of blue rises from one of the white forms, animating the monotony of the black and white. Small accents of yellow and red appear, adding a lyrical contrast to the somber masses of the entirety of the work.
