Work Description:
|
This work has a playful quality, utilizing the contrast of thick versus thin uses of color. The left side of the canvas features predominantly thin vertical lines of blue, black, yellow and white, emerging from the solid black of the background. On the right, thicker applications of color combine to create fuller forms in white and crimson, with interludes of yellow and blue against black. In the top right side of the work, white, yellow, and blue vertical lines extend in a downward fashion, reaching through the darkness. Splashes of orange appear on the right side and the top left side of the canvas.
