Work Description:
Still has reduced form and figure to nothing more than stylized lines and planes of color. Over a raw ochre background, a deep brown pyramidal shape rises from the bottom edge of the canvas. A yellow totem-like object is set in front of the dark brown to the left. Two thick black lifelines rise from the bottom edge and ground the plating panes of color. One rises from the bottom left over the yellow and ends in a grouping of small white dots, and the other rises from the bottom edge just right of center and winds over to the right and straight up, ending just below the top edge. A thin orange line is painted from the top edge just above this second black lifeline and falls to the right side of the black line. Also in line with this second black lifeline are two small light blue passages near the top middle area of the composition. A strange white rectangular form enters from the bottom right edge and ends at the black lifeline. Two bold red dashes are placed at the center of this mass of shapes and lines, suggesting eyes. Lastly, floating in the ochre background at top left, a horizontal stroke crosses a shorter vertical stroke forming an elongated cross.
