Work Description:
|
Two strange forms rise out of the brown earth at the center of the composition. The form closest to the viewer is brown with tones of gold and maroon. A hole is visible near its crown, through which one can glimpse the clouds in the sky beyond. A shorter, white bone-like mass sits behind this form in shadow. Barbed wire winds in front of and around the forms, imbuing the scene with a menacing aura. Three fence posts can be seen in the middle-ground below a pink, ochre, purple and blue impastoed sky.
