Work Description:
|
A stylized, distorted female figure is illustrated in this painting clipping clothes onto a clothesline to dry. She is wearing a red and white checkered shirt or dress. Her face is elongated and her arm has been simplified to a basic outline. She stares out at the viewer with blue shadowy eyes. Her black hair is cropped short and stylized to resemble the flat, geometric planes of color used to depict the clothes hung on the clothesline around the figure.
