Work Description:
|
A jumble of black and white forms surrounded by a burnt orange background, this work emphasizes a dramatic, textured quality. The white shapes seem to dance vertically down the canvas, interrupted by red and yellow linear slashes of paint. The black paint mixes with the orange of the canvas, creating organic, floating forms surrounding the large, white, horizontal forms, as well as vertical lifelines. Most of the action takes place in the center of the work, but vertical inclusions of black, yellow, white, and red paint also appear at the left side of the canvas.The whole work has an animated feel of movement, highlighted by contrasting colors and the bold orange background.
