Work Description:
|
Though this painting is covered entirely in interlocking shapes painted in black/brown and dark navy blue pigment, its varied surface reflectance creates an incredible sense of depth and spatial interplay. Tiny dashes of red dot the composition's right half, and a lone yellow stroke floats hopelessly through the ominous scene at left center. Still has used varnish or some other reflective agent to cover the blue and black shapes, which emphasizes their contrasting hues and creates an more frenzied scene.
