Work Description:
This color slide features an installation view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Jules Olitski's "Frame Extension" (1966, cropped), Franz Kline's "Black, White, and Gray" (1959), Willem de Kooning's "Easter Monday" (1955-56), and Josef Albers's "Homage to the Square: On Near Sky" (1963) line the wall to the left, while Hans Hofmann's "Veluti in Speculum" (1962) hangs to the left of a doorway. Clyfford Still's PH-384 (1946) is on display to the right of the doorway. In the right foreground, David Smith's sculpture "Becca" (1965) appears before Jackson Pollock's "Autumn Rhythm (Number 30)" (1950, cropped). The museum acquired PH-384 from a private collection through the George A. Hearn Fund and Arthur Hoppock Hearn Fund in 1977.
