Work Description:
This color slide features an installation view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A portion of David Smith's sculpture "Becca" (1965, cropped) appears in the left foreground. In the background, Clyfford Still's PH-384 (1946) hangs to the right of a doorway, followed by Jackson Pollock's "Autumn Rhythm (Number 30)" (1950), Adolph Gottlieb's "Thrust" (1959), and Robert Motherwell's "Open Number 37 (in orange with charcoal line)" (1968, cropped). The museum acquired PH-384 from a private collection through the George A. Hearn Fund and Arthur Hoppock Hearn Fund in 1977.
