Work Description:

This black and white photograph features a permanent installation view of Clyfford Still's artwork in the T.B. Walker Gallery at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, California. Still gifted twenty-eight paintings to the museum in 1975. With the acquisition of the gift, the institution constructed a gallery to house the entire collection, while movable walls allowed for the exhibition of select artworks. The walls, arranged in a closed position, display several paintings. From left to right, PH-585 (1952, cropped), PH-174 (1960), PH-58 (1951), PH-446 (1947), PH-919 (1974), and PH-920 (1974, cropped) hang in the gallery.
