This typed letter from Director Earl A. Powell, III to Patricia Still accompanies four photographs of the exhibition “Memorial Installation of Paintings by Clyfford Still” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California. On view July 15 through August 10, 1980, the small installation of four paintings honored the memory of the late artist, who passed away in June of that year. One of the paintings, PH-143 (1955), was exhibited by the museum on an extended loan until its accession in 1991, while three additional artworks were loaned from the Frederick R. Weisman collection.
