This black and white photograph depicts an installation view of the exhibition “Clyfford Still” at the Betty Parsons Gallery in New York. PH-99 (1948-49), PH-177 (1949, hung upside-down) and PH-371 (1947) line the gallery walls from left to right. A portion of PH-397 (1948-49, cropped) appears on the right edge of the frame. On view April 17 through May 6, 1950, the exhibition was Still’s second one-person show with the gallery. The artist renounced Parsons’ representation in September 1951.
