Work Description:
In this black and white photograph, Clyfford Still and his father John Elmer Still plow a field in Alberta, Canada. Elmer stands atop the tractor, while Clyfford trails behind the machine with a plow. The soil in the foreground appears to be freshly tilled. A dense forest occupies the background and right edge of the frame. This image was stapled together with prints 731, 732, 733 with five staples at the bottom edges. Images all seem to depict work on J. E. Still's and nearby farms, by the Stills and neighbors, in Bow Island, Alberta, Canada. Part of a grouping of several photos labeled "Killam, Alberta etc.".
