Work Description:
This color photograph depicts an installation view with selections from the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The gallery features works by artists who associated with the Abstract Expressionist movement. Clyfford Still's PH-814 (1951) hangs on the wall to the far left, while Sam Francis' "Towards Disappearance, II" (1957-58) appears beyond the bench in the left foreground. Proceeding clockwise, Ad Reinhardt's "Abstract Painting, Blue" (1952), "Abstract Painting, Red" (1952), and "Number 107" (1950) occupy the back walls. Still's PH-671 (1944) appears in the right background, followed by Willem de Kooning's "Pirate (Untitled II)" (1981) and David Smith's 1951 sculpture, "Australia." Several men and women view the gallery's artworks.
