Work Description:
In this semi-abstract transitional painting, two figures can be made out amongst various geometric forms, lines and a thickly-painted yellowish background. An amalgamation of navy blue lines and shapes are composed to form a columnar form in the center of the painting starting at the bottom edge of the work. At the top of this form, there are two round discs, which may be interpreted as the figures' heads. Below these discs, other shapes and lines fall vertically and curve organically down to the bottom edge of the work suggesting anatomical parts such as shoulders, ribs, and hands. A deep red semi-circular form is placed at the bottom left of the composition, behind the blue figural shapes and intermingled with the yellow-ochre lines and strokes that make up the ambiguous background.
