Work Description:
|
A swirling, vivid red fills the top left quadrant of this painting and reaches town towards the bottom right. A light brown layer sits along the bottom edge of the work, creating an earthly foundation for the scene above. Directly above this, a deeper sienna brown layer runs across the work from left to right before curving upwards along the right edge and off the composition's top right corner. An isolated irregularly shaped, yellow figure sits at left, anchoring the sienna passage at right. A thin white lifeline runs through the yellow figure, and two black dashes, one on top of the other, are placed along the figure's top right edge, perhaps suggesting eyes. Three black jagged forms float over the sienna area at right, and three white bursts hover near the top. Two bright white dots sit below one of the black forms at right, countering the yellow figure's jet black eye-motifs at left.
