Work Description:
A giant field of black pigment pervades this monumental horizontal composition, with the exception of several areas that have been left unpainted. The largest unpainted form sits along the left edge, filling roughly the left quarter of the painting. Directly to its right, a bolt of blue paint highlighted with white splits another, much narrower bare canvas form from top to bottom. A tiny finger of unpainted canvas reaches into the black field from the top center edge, and then finally, another bare canvas form punctuated by deep maroon hovers in the bottom right corner, rising up along the lower right edge.
