Work Description:
|
This painting shows a boldly-colored landscape with green rolling hills and a deep blue sky. Gray clouds stretch into the sky from the right. Two golden grain elevators rise from the center of the composition behind a train which spits out a billowing trail of murky brown smoke and a puff of bright white steam as it emerges from the right. In front of the steam engine, several blood-red structures or railcars are lined up horizontally across the canvas. A tractor rests on the hill in the foreground, and a small fence is positioned in the bottom left corner.
