Work Description:
This massive canvas is composed of three vertical columns of color. On the left, a dark maroon band runs from top to bottom. It is split down its center by a band of exposed canvas filled almost completely with a flat white pigment. A small area of exposed canvas rests above the maroon at the top left corner, and has a small yellow form and a small orange burst of color floating in its midst. A large expanse of velvety black pigment sits to the right of the maroon. A thin strip of bare canvas divides the two sections, and a thin blue lifeline runs from the top edge down about a foot, dividing this bare canvas strip. Another thin strip of bare canvas sits to the right of the black expanse, separating the black from the large vertical orange form that runs from top to bottom along the right edge of the composition.
