Work Description:
|
Two nude figures, one male and one female, stand facing the viewer in an ambiguous landscape. The male figure raises his proper right arm and reaches under with his proper left arm. He glances off into space towards the lower left of the painting. The female figure stands upright with both her arms resting at her hips and holds a white cloth in her proper left hand. She confronts the viewer with a somber, direct gaze.
