Work Description:
This painting depicts a strange, otherworldly blue and orange figure who sits upright in the center of the canvas in front of a thickly-painted white background. The figure is grounded in a murky green-brown foundation. The abstracted form somewhat resembles a spider, with a blue oblong shape at center suggesting an abdomen/cephalothorax and four arms protruding on each side into the surrounding white ground. A blue round disc punctuated by five white marks sits above the eight arms at the top center of the composition and is surrounded by a burst of yellow sparks, suggesting the figure's head. The main part of the figure's body is composed of abstracted orange, white and blue forms and interrupted at center by three bold red dots.
